Details are slowly being revealed for the upcoming OnePlus 5, and the most recent is the confirmation of the phone pressing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The declaration was made on Qualcomm’s Twitter, as the firm let the world realize that the new OnePlus flagship will have its most effective chip under the hood.
After confirming the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC on its upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone, the Chinese smartphone producer has now claimed that the phone will be first lead to include the previously mentioned processor. Notably, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus were launched with Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US too yet were launched with Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC a month ago.
Larry Paulson, VP and President, Qualcomm affirmed that there are few smartphone with Snapdragon 835 SoC that will be launching soon. “There are some smartphone with Snapdragon 835 set to launch but we would prefer not to take the thunder of OEMs,” Paulson said. Presently things being what they are OnePlus will be the first among these OEMs to launch their Snapdragon 835 smartphone.
Senior Vice President at Qualcomm, stated, “OnePlus makes each smartphone as though it’s making a piece of art and not just making a mass-produced product. All of OnePlus smartphone have so far been fueled by premium Snapdragon mobile stages, ensuring that each era of OnePlus handsets deliver a powerful performance”.
There are at present five smartphone that feature the Snapdragon 835 SoC-the Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8 plus, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Xiaomi Mi 6, and Sharp Aquos R. With the claim, OnePlus seems to be indicating the OnePlus 5 will launch before the Xiaomi Mi 6 or Sony Xperia XZ Premium. If true, the move could help the Chinese producer hit the market before Xiaomi, picking up the main mover advantage in terms of deals.
OnePlus and Qualcomm as of late affirmed that former’s upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone will include Snapdragon 835 SoC through a blog entry and a tweet respectively. The smartphone will be launched in Summer by the organization.
We also know the phone will be known as the OnePlus 5, not the OnePlus 4, and it’ll launch at some point this late spring, with June searching the in all probability for the present.
In the past the OnePlus draw has been leader flagship specs at a moderate cost point, but rumors claim the Chinese firm may increase the price point for its upcoming smartphone.
